Symptoms of Homocystinuria


Possible Symptoms 

The symptoms that may occur as an infant may be mildly delayed development. Increasing visual problems may lead to diagnosis of this condition.

Symptoms also include:
High arches of the feet
- Knock knees
- Long limbs
- Mental disorders 
- Nearsightedness
- Spidery fingers (arachnodactyly)


Here some other symptoms that are caused due to homocystinuria:


                                        
Displacement of the lenses of the eyes.
Here, we can see an elevation of the right eye.








Metal retardation -  
below-average general intellectual function, 
and a lack of the skills necessary for daily













Shuffling gait - 
Short, uncertain steps, 
with minimal flexion and toes dragging










Fine, sparse hair









Skeletal deformations









Malar flush - 
A high colour over the cheekbones, with a bluish tinge












Chest deformities 






Ever parent wants the best for their child. Understandably, parenting isn't easy, but do take note of these symptoms especially since they are not obvious. Diagnose a child early and more can be done to improve his/her life.
