How do we know for sure?

  1. The blog is very colourful and interesting!
Are there any images showing the results from affected infants? Such as results of liver biopsy of affected infants.

  2. It's an interesting kind of illness and to think that so many types of diseases have developed over the years. This blog is a good opportunity for us to learn more about diseases we never knew about.

However, just a question, it is mentioned above that skin biopsy with a fibroblast culture can be carried out - how exactly is it carried out and eventually lead to the diagnosis of homocystinuria? And also, are the results of this test conclusive (i.e. this test alone can determine for sure that the individual has/does not have homocystinuria) or must it be coupled with other tests as well?
